As Canada's top soldiers had meetings set this morning to talk about Persian Gulf states defending themselves against Iranian bombings. Now she didn't know what form it would take, but reiterated Canada is not taking part in the U.S. office. operation. Montreal police have arrested a couple accused of attempted murder in the Plateau Mont Royal borough. A 32-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were picked up in Terrebonne yesterday. Police were called at about 1.15 in the morning Wednesday. They say a 24-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since stabilized. Montreal police have caught Canada's most wanted fugitive, sought for a killing outside a shopping center in Toronto last year. Brian Fuentes Gramajo was arrested yesterday. The 24-year-old Montreal native was wanted on a first-degree murder charge for the mall parking lot killing last July. More witnesses will testify today in the civil trial of a woman being sued for defamation by Quebec Cardinal Mark Ouellette, whom she claims sexually assaulted her. The allegations first surfaced in 2022 as part of a wider class action lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Quebec and dozens of its clergy members. In response, Ouellette launched a $100,000 defamation suit against the woman, saying she hurt his reputation, honor and dignity. And don't forget, this weekend we return to daylight saving time.
