While we are expecting a bit of snow in Montreal today, this weekend expect Rd. work on Highway 40 at the Chartres de Galle Bridge. Officials say one lane will be closed in both directions from Friday night until early Monday morning. Expect additional lane reductions and backups. Motorists are being advised to check Quebec 511 for updates. More booze could be coming to a grocery store near you. Quebec's Minister for the Economy and Small and Medium Enterprises, Samuel Poulin, will soon allow the sale of ready-to-drink spirit-based beverages in grocery stores. It's one of the amendments presented in his Bill 11 on regulatory relief. All about 61,000 Canadians in Mexico have now registered with the government. The push comes as authorities keep a close eye on recent violence linked to the killing of a drug cartel kingpin Sunday.
