Expect additional lane reductions backups, motorists are advised to check ahead by calling Quebec 511. Montreal's airport authorities urging travelers to be prepared as the busy spring break season lands amid major construction. Traffic entering Montreal's Trudeau International Airport has been a source of frustration in recent years, prompting some passengers to exit early and haul their suitcases along the roadway on foot. A Montreal Airport spokesperson said some 58,000 passengers are expected to travel through each day over the next 10 days. A surge in traffic comes as the airport is demolishing a main parking garage and reducing parking by thousands of spots. Now, the airport has added to alternative pickup and drop-off zones and shuttle service to the terminals, and they're urging travelers to reserve parking spots in advance and arrive at least three hours early for your flight. The airport's new permanent drop-off zone should be complete by 2028 as part of a 10-year, $10 billion plan to increase passenger capacity. A special constable working in Montreal's metro system facing assault charges. Quebec's police watchdog said the 39-year-old has been charged with armed assault and assault against an indigenous person. Charging documents say the alleged offence has happened at the Barry-Eucan metro station January 13th of last year. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the U.S. is holding an Edmonton-born Canadian in what his fiancee says are harsh conditions. Curtis Wright's been living in the U.S. for about 30 years, but was stopped at the Houston airport over a high school drug conviction.
