A four-alarm fire at an auto recycling center in Laval was still burning yesterday morning. According to police, they were called before noon Saturday to a building in the city's Saint-Francois district. Firefighters from neighboring municipalities were called in to help. The building is considered a total loss. Luckily, nobody was injured. A fire in the Rosemont Lapte Patri borough yesterday morning has displaced a family. According to reports, Montreal Fire called just after 8 A.m. yesterday morning. A family living on the ground floor of the 16-unit building had to be evacuated. The cause of the fire has not been determined. Hong Kong officials say the protective netting that covered scaffolding around several high-rise apartment buildings that caught fire last week did not meet codes for fire resistance. Fire broke out Wednesday, wasn't extinguished until Friday. 146 people were killed, 100 people are still missing. 11 people were arrested in connection to the blaze, including an engineering consultant. Cleanup work continues at the scene of a train derailment Saturday in a remote area of BC. An assessment found 12 cars jumped the tracks, including some carrying wood and propane. In an update, the rail company said repairs were finished, safety inspections were completed, and the corridor has now reopened to railway traffic.
