The dollar 73.35 cents U.S. I'm Stacey Englehart. While gas prices also up again today, the blame is laid on the U.S. and Israel's war in Iran. It jumped about another 3 cents as the price of oil was hovering around 77 bucks a barrel, as Prime Minister Carney said Canada cannot rule out military participation in the widening Middle East conflict. He was speaking alongside the Australian Prime Minister when he called the question of Canada's involvement a, quote, fundamental hypothetical. He is urging de-escalation and protection of civilians. A woman has died, three police officers injured in what's believed to be exposure to a highly toxic gas. According to reports, police were called to an apartment by a bailiff who was there for an eviction. After entering the apartment, one of the officers lost consciousness and collapsed. Two others felt dizzy but didn't lose consciousness. Police say they also found a 36-year-old woman inside pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe there were traces of phosphine, a colorless, flammable chemical in the apartment. Police say 10 nearby residents were displaced after the building was evacuated. A Quebec man charged with second-degree murder in the death of a woman northwest of Montreal last week. Patrick Clavell appeared in a court Tuesday. Police did not disclose how the woman died. And are you speaking French? Big Brother is watching. Undercover language inspectors are heading back into Quebec stores, bars, and restaurants to check and see if customers are being greeted and served in French. The blitz was done about three years ago. This time, almost 8,000 businesses can expect a visit. The Office Quebecois de la Langue Francaise said it is conducting this operation in key areas, about half of the visits in Montreal. Now, the so-called study is not intended to penalize the businesses, and the businesses will not be identified in the report. Light 1067 Sports, NHL last night. Windy and cool, minus 1 feeling minus 10 with the wind chill. Tonight, cloudy, windy and colder with a wind chill of minus 13. Big difference tomorrow, sunny and six.
