Right now it's 20, the dollar 72.44 cents U.S. I'm Stacey Englehart. Cleanup this morning continues after storms swept through parts of Montreal yesterday. Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm morning in the Vaudray-Soulange region. The storm brought torrential rains, intense lightning, and knocked out power to about 2,000 customers. Now, the same system is also responsible for damage in Ontario. Residents dealt with so much water and hail, some motorists were stranded in their cars waist deep in water. Numerous flights out of Pearson were also canceled. Several buildings were damaged. A group of Montreal lawyers preparing to file legal action against the Quebec government over the French-only election mail-outs. Now, Elections Quebec said it wanted an exemption but was refused. Eric Meldof, one of the lawyers drafting the challenge, said the government is impeding the right of English-speaking voters to access the information and said there's nothing in the law that permits them to do what they're doing. The election documents will include a QR code that English-speaking voters can scan to access the information in English. But that's only if they know how to read French first or be tech savvy enough and have a smartphone. The federal government announced yesterday it's extending the 10 centilitre tax break at Canadian Pumps till January. It will be followed by a three-month phase-in of the tax. there's been an update on how many Canadians are missing after last week's flooding at the Himalayan border. A Canadian citizen unaccounted for has been deemed safe. 29 others remain missing. Rescue and recovery operations continue where flash flooding killed over 1200 people.
