The dollar, 71.61 cents U.S. I'm Stacey Englehart. The Quebec Liberal leader has apparently expelled his former parliamentary leader because she wasn't loyal enough. Pablo Rodriguez says Marwa Risky has done a lot of damage, quote unquote, to the party since she fired her chief of staff last month without asking his permission. She said the dismissal was a human resources matter. He apparently plans to reinstate the fired employee. Culture Minister Mark Miller said he supports removing the criminal code's religious exemption for hate speech, arguing people should not use sacred texts to justify acts that would otherwise be hate crimes. The Bloc Quebec was pushing an amendment to eliminate the exemption, while conservatives oppose it as an attack on freedom of expression and religion. The Justice Minister has signaled openness to the change, though committee work on the bill has been slowed by a conservative filibuster. Experts say the exemption has rarely been invoked and that only extreme dehumanizing speech meets the criminal code threshold for hate speech offenses. The Quebec government has introduced a new bill aimed at tightening regulations on online ticket resales and subscription services. Under the proposed legislation, ticket resellers would be required to clearly indicate that they are not the official vendor and that consumers may find lower-priced tickets directly from the organizer. Quebec already prohibits resellers from inflating ticket prices without an agreement with the event producer, but the new bill adds stricter transparency. and dozens of community members formed a human chain along a bike path in Utremont to protest the government's decision to replace the bike lanes with parking spaces. Transport Actif Utremont and Velour-Russion Montreal organized the event, saying the path's removal forces cyclists back onto the road. Newly elected Mayor Carolyn Braun said the path would be removed until March 31st. Light 1067 sports, NHL last night. The Habs lost to Ottawa 5-2. Toronto beat Florida 4-1.
