Tragedy on a sliding hill east of Montreal. Police say a six-year-old boy has died after suffering a severe head injury while sledding Monday afternoon. Police were called before 3 about an injured child at a park near Chamblee. Municipal officials in Chamblee have closed access to that sledding hill. Quebec's strict retail hours are about to undergo a temporary change. A one-year pilot project starting March 11th will let stores open later on weekends until 9 instead of 5. Some retailers welcome the flexibility and hope it will attract more customers. Others are complaining they're going to have to pay staff and might not see an increase in sales. Gas prices have jumped 6 cents overnight. The increase being blamed on the U.S. and Israel attacking Iran. Another fallout from the war, we're being told to brace for cyber attacks. Canada's digital agency warning that Iranian reprisals will be very likely to what they perceive as Canada's public support for the U.S. military activity. Explosions, meanwhile, heard throughout the night in Iran's capital and also in Jerusalem as the war enters day five. By the way, the U.S. government said they'd be doing this for a whole month. The Prime Minister, meanwhile, said his support for the strikes comes with regret, saying it appears the attacks broke international law, adding no advance notice or engagement was given to Canada, allies, or the United Nations. And A proposed high-speed rail line between Quebec City and Toronto is getting anything but a smooth ride from rural Ontarians and Quebecers. The Crown Corporation overseeing the project is weighing 2 possible corridors, but a coalition of farmers, small-town residents, and municipal councilors said either route would sever their communities while offering them fewer benefits, costing taxpayers billions. The Quebec Farmers Union president near Montreal sees this project as a catastrophe in the making. Light 107 6-7 Sports. NHL last night, Montreal lost to San Jose 7-5. Elsewhere, Winnipeg beat Chicago in overtime. Ottawa lost to Edmonton in overtime. Calgary lost to Dallas. Montreal is in Anaheim Friday at 9. PWHL, Montreal beat Toronto 4-3 in a shootout. The Raptors lost to the Knicks, 1-11-95. They'll be in Minnesota tomorrow at 8. and the Blue Jays beat Team Canada 10-7. The Jays are off today.
